Corporations

A corporation brings pilots together under a flag, a motto and a radio station. It’s Estelar Online’s guild: the flag appears next to every member’s name everywhere (in space, on foot, in chat, in the feed and on the public page), and it’s the corporation that takes part in the Fortress War.

Everything is on the SOCIAL screen ([B] by default; change it in SETTINGS › KEYS), CORPORATION tab. Corporations need a connection to the server.

Founding costs no credits and has no level requirement. On the CORPORATION tab, while not in any corporation, open FOUND and fill in:

Field Rule
Name 3 to 24 characters (letters, numbers, spaces and a few symbols); can’t repeat another corporation’s name
Motto one sentence, up to 80 characters (required)
Description what the corporation does and who you’re looking for, up to 400 characters (required)
Flag a 128 × 128 pixel drawing, made in the editor

A pilot can be in at most one corporation. To join an existing one, use SEARCH (by name or motto), open the corporation and send an application with an optional message; whoever handles applications accepts or declines. You can also be invited by name: the invite shows up on the tab itself, with a button to join.

The editor draws the flag pixel by pixel, at 128 × 128. It has a pencil, eraser, bucket, eyedropper, a brush from 1 to 16 pixels, mirror (horizontal symmetry), grid, a color palette plus a free color, undo and redo, clear and IMPORT an image (scaled down to 128 × 128). The preview shows the flag at the sizes it appears in the game.

The flag goes next to the name, two lines tall: large shapes and strong colors work better than fine detail. If it gets too heavy (too many colors), the game asks for fewer colors or larger areas.

Every corporation starts with two ranks: Founder (can do everything) and Member (can’t do anything beyond taking part). The founder creates up to 10 ranks in the RANKS section and chooses what each one can do:

Permission What it allows
Invite invite pilots by name
Accept applications accept or decline those who asked to join
Remove members remove members from the corporation (except the founder)
Approve tags approve photos tagged for the album
Radio station add and remove songs from the corporation’s station
Edit the corporation change the motto, description, flag, and the frame and color in use
Diplomacy declare and withdraw wars and alliances

Only the founder handles ranks, turns on approval for album photos, hands over leadership and dissolves the corporation. Nobody can remove the founder, and only the founder can remove someone who also has the remove permission. To leave, the founder first has to hand leadership to another member. A corporation holds up to 60 members.

  • Album: when posting a photo from the album, a member can tag the corporation (POST AND TAG). The photo goes into the corporation’s album, or into an approval queue if the founder turned that option on. See Photography.
  • Radio: the corporation’s station is a list of up to 200 songs that members with the permission put together through the ship radio. Any member can tune in (TUNE IN THE STATION) and listen on shuffle.

In the DIPLOMACY section, whoever has the permission declares WAR or ALLIANCE on another corporation. Declarations are announced to every pilot online.

  • A declaration is one-sided. The other corporation sees it in the panel (DECLARED ON US) and can reciprocate.
  • One declaration per target: declaring something else replaces the previous one.
  • War: it only takes one side to declare. Members of corporations at war attack each other anywhere in space, with no individual choice (it doesn’t depend on each pilot’s war mode), but only those with a war license in force: no license, no war.
  • Alliance: nobody fires on their own corporation or on anyone their corporation considers an ally. The effect is directional: if only you declared, you hold your fire, but the other side isn’t required to hold theirs.
  • You can’t ally with someone who is at war with you. A declared alliance is suspended while the other side is at war with you, and comes back on its own when the war is withdrawn.
  • TOTAL WAR and BLOC ALLIANCE also apply to every corporation the target has declared as an ally (even without reciprocation), both current ones and future ones.

An alliance also opens up the market: the corporation’s listings appear to the corporation itself and to the ones it considers allies (see Market).

Every corporation has a hall: the side door of the bar at any kiosk leads to it (see Stations and kiosks). The flag, name, motto and members are there.

In the SHOP (Esc menu), any member can buy cosmetic items that apply to the whole corporation. None of them affect combat or performance.

Type Items Price
Flag frame silver, gold, neon, stellar R$ 14.90 to R$ 24.90
Name color gold, ruby, emerald, sapphire, amethyst, ice R$ 9.90
Hall items crest rug, neon sign, trophy shelf, founder statue, jellyfish aquarium, hydroponic garden, holographic planet R$ 9.90 to R$ 24.90

The frame and color in use are switched in the corporation panel, by whoever can edit. Hall items show up in the hall on their own.
