Arena, MOBA and Siege
Arena, MOBA and Siege are Estelar Online’s team matches, all of them PvP. The teams are cyan and amber, up to five a side, and bots fill any empty slots: you can play solo at any time, and when people arrive through the queue, the bots step aside to make room. Everyone flies identical ships, and dying only costs a respawn at your team’s base: no ship is ever lost, not even with the war license.
Join from the MATCHES screen ([J] by default); see Matches for the queue, parties and private rooms. In chat, /t talks to your team only. Combat is the same as in the universe, with the four-sided shield, the flip and missiles.
Setups
Section titled “Setups”Each mode has three setups, with different team sizes and bot difficulty. Each one has its own leaderboard.
| Mode | Setups |
|---|---|
| Arena | 1x1 easy bots · 3x3 medium bots · 5x5 hard bots |
| MOBA | 3x3 easy bots · 5x5 medium bots · 5x5 hard bots |
| Siege | 3x3 easy bots · 5x5 medium bots · 5x5 hard bots |
PvP Arena
Section titled “PvP Arena”The most straightforward mode: two teams head to head, near a planet in the Sol system.
- The first team to reach 10 kills wins.
- The match lasts up to 6 minutes; if time runs out, the team with more kills wins (or it’s a draw).
- Bots respawn 6 s after being shot down; pilots respawn at their team’s base.
A strategy map near a planet in the Sol system, with two bases and three lanes (top, middle and bottom).
- Each team has a core behind its base and two towers per lane (the outer one, further forward, and the inner one).
- Every 30 s, each base sends a wave of drones down each lane. Drones travel along the lane and stop to shoot whatever is in range; they are the troops that push the lane.
- A team’s core is only exposed once one of its lanes falls completely (both towers). Then it can be destroyed, and whoever destroys the enemy core wins.
- At your team’s base, hull and shield recover quickly.
- MOBA bots respawn at the base 10 s after being shot down.
In the middle of the map there are two pirate camps, each with a guardian and two pirates. The team that clears a camp gets a bonus for 90 s, and the camp comes back 90 s later:
| Camp | Team bonus |
|---|---|
| Corsair’s Nest | +30% damage |
| Freighter Wreck | +25% speed and shield regenerating twice as fast |
The match lasts up to 15 minutes. If no core is destroyed, the team that took down more structures wins; on a tie, the one with more kills. A MOBA win gives you a badge.
Siege recreates the fight for the Stellar Heart in the Fortress War, at a real fortress picked at random from the five.
- The cyan team attacks and the amber team defends. Playing solo, you’re on the attack.
- The Siege Stellar Heart has less hull than the one in the real war (the match is short), and two defense towers protect the crystal.
- The attackers win if they break the crystal within 8 minutes. If time runs out, the defenders win.
It’s the perfect training for the daily war: same crystal, same place, no risk and no corporation needed.
Points and rewards
Section titled “Points and rewards”In all three modes, your leaderboard score counts kills of bots and pilots; in MOBA and Siege, taking down a tower is worth 3 points, a core or the crystal is worth 5, and clearing a camp is worth 1.
| Mode | Participation | Win |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | 150 ¢ | +200 ¢ |
| MOBA | 250 ¢ | +200 ¢ |
| Siege | 200 ¢ | +200 ¢ |
A leaderboard record adds +400 ¢. As with every match outside a private room, finishing also gives 1 to 3 components and a 10% chance of a blueprint. In team modes, pirates and bots don’t drop loot.
